Summary: Plan, direct, or coordinate the storage or warehouse operations in the areas of shipping, receiving and material handling in the day warehouse shift.

E | Participate in planning, developing, or implementing day warehouse safety, security programs and all Food Safety programs and activities |
E | Respond to customers’ or shippers’ questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services. |
E | Supervision and direct management of direct reports on a daily and monthly basis. |
E | Enforcement of all company policies as they pertain to warehousing and receiving. |
E | Coordinate and follow up on all operations programs/logs such as inbound shipment checklist, sanitation checklist, and import inspection checklist |
E | Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or receiving |
E | Responsible for maintaining and repairing all warehouse racking and equipment. |
E | Maintain metrics, reports, and process documentation. |
E | Perform other related duties as required and assigned. |
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 10-15 employees in the Day Warehouse Department in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience — Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills — Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills — Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability — Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer skills – word processing software, spreadsheets, and database (inventory) programs including emailing
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations — Valid driver’s license; forklift certification preferred but not required; HACCP certification preferred, but not required; valid driver’s license; see “Education and/or Experience” section.
